Case study · Nashville, TN

Blade & Bourbon scaled from 1 chair to 4 locations in 18 months.

A Nashville barbershop turned a loyal following into a fast-growing regional chain — and ran every shop on the same Aaptly install the day they opened it.

Where they were

Blade & Bourbon started as a single chair in Jordan’s garage. Eighteen months later they run four locations across Nashville, Franklin, Murfreesboro, and Chattanooga — with 22,000+ monthly bookings and a chain-wide no-show rate under 2%.

When Jordan signed up with Aaptly he was running Square Appointments at the original shop and could already feel the tool breaking at the seams. Multi-location was a non-starter. Deposits were clunky. The rebooking story didn’t exist. And the dashboard couldn’t show him anything useful across his growing team.

What we changed

The platform switch was the first week. After that, every change was about scaling the operating model:

 • Single install, per-location scoping. Every location gets its own calendar, service menu, pricing, and Stripe Connect account — but chain-wide reporting rolls up automatically.
 • Role-based access. Barbers see their own bookings. Location managers see their shop. Jordan sees everything.
 • AI receptionist per shop. Each location has its own phone number and script — local greeting, local service menu, local FAQ.
 • Chain-wide rebooking. Clients who’ve visited any location get rebooked at the location they most recently went to.
 • Membership program. $35/mo = 1 cut/mo + 10% off products, any location.

What happened

Each new location has been live on Aaptly on day one of its soft open, configured in a single morning by the location manager. Every location inherits the chain playbook — the same deposit policy, review flow, rebook cadence, SMS templates — so the client experience is consistent across Nashville.

The membership program now has 1,400 active members across the four shops, generating $49k/month in recurring revenue before any walk-in business. Chain-wide, no-shows stay under 2% because every shop runs the same deposit policy.

Why it worked

Most multi-location service businesses trip over their tools. Each new location is another platform to configure, another set of integrations, another data migration. Jordan picked a stack that scales with him — so opening a new location became a real-estate decision and a people decision, not a software decision. Eighteen months in, it’s still his biggest advantage.

Every time we open a new shop, the Aaptly install takes a morning. I used to stress about the software for a month before each opening. Now I don’t think about it — I think about the barbers and the build-out.
